Know anything about the French connection to the last name Bonnell?
Sweetie, you will also be interested in knowing something about the "Auld Alliance"(Old Alliance) a term Scottish Historians are familiar with. It was the times in History that France and Scotland shared their passionate hatred for the English Tyrants and rushed to the aide of the other. The French and the Scots share the root word "Bon" for" beautiful", "Great," and words of that ilk.

The Scots word" Bonnie Lass" The "Bonnie Prince" and of course the French " Bon apitit!" "Bon Jour"

Thus your name "Bonnie" is the correct form Of Bonnell..compare "Donnie" from the Scots name Donnell
