I know how to say it in present tense (Il s'appelle...) but I need it in "le pass茅 compos茅". Please answer as fast as possible!
How do you say "His name was...." in French?
Il s'appelait or son nom 茅tait, that's imperfect ,pass茅-compos茅 would sound weird

Reply:Il s'est appelle. (last "e" with an accent)
or you can say as well:
son nom etait
