Is there a French equivalent to for the name Grant?

I'm half-French, and speak French fluently. Recently my mom and I somehow stumbled across this topic because she is a teaching assistant at an elementary school, and one of her students asked her how to say his name in French, but said she didn't think there was an equivalent (she's a native speaker). Does anyone know of one?

Is there a French equivalent to for the name Grant?
Grant was originally a Scottish surname, not a given name so, no, there's no direct equivalent.

But, ironically, that surname originally came from the French word "grand". But that's not a name, so no luck!
Reply:Absolutely no idea.

But I'm sure that the little guy wouldn't mind being G茅rard, Georges, or Gilles for a day =]
