What's the name of that french symbol thing?

It has like two curly things coming off of the top and the bottom with a spike in the middle and it's a really popular french symbol. And I know what it's called just not how it's spelled. Like fair ailise...

What's the name of that french symbol thing?
The symbol is called "la fleur de lis." It's a design of either an iris or a lily. Years ago, the symbol was used a lot in heraldry, but now it's purely decorative.
