"du Toit" (pronounced du Twa)

Francois du Toit was one of the French Hugenots who fled to South Africa during the procecution of the protestants in France. Because of this there are few Du Toit's left in France, but quite a lot of them in Sout Africa and other countries where the protestants fled. :-)

Reply:Google "French surnames" and you will find tons of lists. I have used the French surnames lists myself - and Japanese surnames, Italian, Romanian etc.

For American surnames, I love the US Census Bureau list of most common names - starting with Smith and working its way down. Great to use. I have it bookmarked. Pax - C

My last name is French, but you can't have it LOL ... It's already being used ... by me.
